About Me
When painting pets for clients I enjoy capturing the spirit and likeness of their pet or relation in my paintings. I enjoy receiving the intial images and the inspiration I feel when developing ideas for the pet portrait. Feedback and input from clients is a requirement of mine as I like the portrait to be an experience and a memory for them, and not just an image at the end. I also feel it is important that I keep my own personal style and strive to do this in every piece I paint.
How I began..
I began painting a few years ago when I wanted a modern bright picture for my kitchen that had been recently rennovated. After looking at lots of pictures I decided I wanted to make it more personal instead of just any abstract image.I knew what sort of styles I liked - pop art, monochrome, but also bright and bold at the same time. This is where Poki my cat came in.
I have been an animal lover for years and decided that my cat would be a great candidate for a picture. I am now glad I did this as I have a fantastic personal reminder of Poki who sadly died. The painting is a constant reminder of her and her laid back personality. I still really love this painting and the feeling it gives me when I see it. It also looks great in my kitchen and is a talking point when people come for dinner..
Poki (RIP)
